Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Our second work day was postponed due to bad weather the day before and the muddy conditions that resulted from it. Check back for updates on when that will be rescheduled.

In the meantime, we still have plots available. Just a few left, and we really want to see them filled!

Work Day

Part one of our beautiful spring work day involved some of our gardening families coming out to help measure out plots. 9' by 11' looks like the perfect starting garden size. We've got 16 of the plots completed with some kids coming out after school to help finish the last 6. It's so exciting to see things coming together.

We've got our fencing ordered, mulch for the paths on the way and even had a dear member of our team translate some of our literature into Spanish so that we can hopefully reach out to our Spanish-speaking community here in the area. Another area church has also asked us for advice on getting a garden started there on their grounds, too, and we hope to have a moment to ourselves to go talk to them for a bit. It's a lot more work than people understand, I think, but it would be amazing to see more and more of our churches and such come to join the cause. The more people we can get growing their own healthy foods, the better, and the more people who need the help we can give, the better.
